Note
A quick sticky note for Notion — type and forget, auto-saved.
About this widget
The Olivtwig Note widget is the simplest possible writing surface: open it, type, and it saves. Each note has a unique URL so the text follows the embed across devices and pages — no signup, no extension, no install. The widget intentionally has no formatting controls, no rich text, and no autosuggestions — just plain text that persists. Perfect for the moments when you don't want to think about where to put a thought; you just want to capture it and come back to it later.
Why a sticky-note widget when Notion is already for notes
Notion is great for structured notes, but every Notion block invites you to format, add toggles, link, and embed. Sometimes you just want a single plain-text surface inside a page — a margin note next to a database, a temporary thought, a quote you want to keep visible. The Note widget gives you that without any of Notion's formatting prompts. It's the equivalent of a paper sticky note on your monitor: low-stakes, always there, asks nothing of you.
How saving works
Each Note embed has a unique URL with a short ID. Typing in the note auto-saves to the cloud as you type — there's no save button. Open the same URL anywhere else and the same content is there. The note has no formatting (intentionally) so what you see is exactly what's stored, with no surprises when you reopen it on a different device or share the URL.
Where it earns its place
The Note widget is most useful where a margin-thought needs a stable home.
- Margin annotation
- Drop next to a database or chart to capture a passing observation that doesn't belong in the data itself.
- Quote keeper
- Paste a quote you want to keep visible on a project page or workspace home.
- Wish list
- A running list of books, tools, or ideas you'd consider — no structure, just text.
- Temporary scratch
- Need a stable URL for cross-device drafting? Type into the note on your phone, reopen it on your laptop, paste into Notion when ready.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Note widget free?
Yes. Every Olivtwig widget — including Note — is free to use, with no signup or login required.
Does my note save automatically?
Yes. Each Note has a unique URL and text saves to the cloud as you type — no save button. Reopening the URL anywhere restores the latest content.
Can I format the text (bold, headings, links)?
Not by design. The Note widget is intentionally plain text — for rich content, use a Notion block inside your page. The widget's value is its lack of formatting overhead.
Can someone else edit my note?
Anyone with the URL can read and edit. There's no account system, so privacy is URL-discretion — keep it private for solo notes, share for collaborative ones.
Is there a length limit?
The note holds a few thousand characters comfortably. For longer drafts, write in Notion or a dedicated editor and use Note for quick captures.
