About this widget

The Olivtwig Pomodoro widget runs a 25-minute focus session followed by a 5-minute break, cycling automatically. The durations are customizable if the default Pomodoro lengths don't fit your work, and the timer pauses cleanly if you need to step away. Embed the URL into your Notion focus page or deep-work template, hit start, and the cycle runs in plain sight — no signup, no extension, no install. Designed for solo focus work where having the countdown inside your reading area matters more than browser tab switching.

Why a Pomodoro widget inside Notion

Most Pomodoro apps live in a separate tab or a desktop window — easy to lose track of when you're deep in a Notion doc. Embedding the timer directly in the same page you're writing or reading keeps the countdown in peripheral vision, so you notice the cycle ending without breaking focus to find the app. The widget is self-contained: no integration, no sync, just start when you start and stop when you stop.

How the cycle works

By default a session is 25 minutes of focus followed by 5 minutes of break. When the focus timer hits zero the widget switches into break mode and resets to 5; when break hits zero it flips back to focus. You can change either duration up or down to fit your work style — long sessions for writing, shorter for coding sprints. The timer pauses cleanly so meetings and interruptions don't have to break a cycle.

Where it earns its place

Pomodoro fits any Notion page where time-boxed focus is the activity.

Deep-work page
Sit the timer at the top of your focus doc so the countdown stays in your reading area.
Study sessions
Use 25/5 cycles for reading, problem sets, or memorization — the rhythm prevents stale focus.
Writing template
Drop into a daily writing page; the visible countdown discourages task-switching mid-paragraph.
Workout intervals
Customize durations to match HIIT or interval training (e.g. 45/15 or 30/30) and run it from a workout page.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Pomodoro widget free?

Yes. Every Olivtwig widget — including Pomodoro — is free to use, with no signup or login required.

Can I change the 25/5 durations?

Yes. Both focus and break durations can be customized to fit your work — shorter for coding sprints, longer for writing, or matched to interval training.

Does the timer keep running when I close the Notion page?

The timer runs while the embed is visible. If you close the page entirely it pauses; reopening it resumes from where you left off if the browser tab stays alive.

Will I get a sound when a session ends?

The widget shows a visible cycle-complete state when the timer hits zero. Browser sound permissions vary inside iframes, so reliable audio cues are not guaranteed — the visual is the primary signal.

Can I run multiple Pomodoro widgets at once?

Yes, each embed is independent. Most people run one per workspace, but it's fine to embed separate timers on separate Notion pages for different kinds of work.
