About this widget

The Olivtwig Mini Calendar widget shows the current month as a clean grid with today highlighted. Click the arrows to move forward or back through months — a quick way to check what day of the week a date falls on, or how many weeks until something. There's no signup, no extension, no install — paste the embed URL into any Notion page and the calendar lives there forever. The layout is intentionally compact so it fits inside a small Notion embed block without feeling cramped, and it adapts to English and Korean locales for weekday and month names.

Why a mini calendar in Notion

Notion's full calendar database view is powerful but heavy — you wouldn't drop it into a journal page or a sidebar. The Mini Calendar fills the gap when you just want a quick visual sense of the month: where today sits, what day-of-week a specific date falls on, how many weeks are left. It's the analog of a desk calendar pinned to a corner of your workspace, except every visitor sees the right current month automatically.

How navigation and today highlight work

The widget always opens on the current month with today's date visually marked. Click the previous or next arrow to scroll to other months — the highlight follows the actual today value, so if you've scrolled to a future month, no date is highlighted there. Refreshing the page returns you to the current month automatically.

Where to drop it

Mini Calendar plays well wherever a date-of-week visual matters.

Weekly planning
Sit it above your weekly task list to see how the week falls across the month.
Content calendar
Pair with a content database to eye-check publishing days at a glance.
Class schedule
Embed in a student or teacher's class page so the school week is always visible.
Personal journal
Drop into a journal sidebar so the date you're writing is always anchored in the month.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Mini Calendar widget free?

Yes. Every Olivtwig widget — including Mini Calendar — is free to use, with no signup or login required.

Does it always show the current month?

Yes. The widget opens on the current month by default, with today's date highlighted. You can scroll to other months and refresh to return to today.

Are weekday and month names localized?

Yes. Korean visitors see Korean weekday and month names, English visitors see English. The format adapts automatically based on the viewer's locale.

Can I add events or notes to dates?

Not in this widget — Mini Calendar is intentionally read-only and minimal. For event tracking, Notion's own calendar database view is the better fit.

Will today's highlight follow midnight in my timezone?

Yes. The widget reads the current date from the visitor's browser, so the today highlight moves to the next day at the viewer's local midnight.
